Summary

I’m using screenwriting beats that end in therefore or but to raise the tension and storytelling elements.

Cinematic Storytelling elements (Cinematic Storytelling by Jennifer Van Sijll)

26. Expanding Time through Pacing- used to slow down time and make the protagonist anxious.

34. Visual Foreshadowing- a visual symbol planted early that suggests an action that will take place later in the film. The periwinkle envelope.

87. Props (Externalizing Character)- Sophie goes to the lake early in the film and jumps in the water. In the end, Sophie gets killed and thrown into the water. the same splashing sounds.

93. Contrast of Wardrobe- The killer wears all black and the victims wear white or other light colors to show the contrast in the wardrobe between all the characters.
